Woodturning is a form of woodworking that is used to create a variety of objects on the lathe. It is one of the oldest forms of woodworking dating to around 1300B.C. with the Egyptians. A variety of shapes and objects can be created using gouges, skew chisels, and scrapers.

A. Introduction to Woodturning - 1 day class - One-on-one instruction
  • For someone with little or no prior experience
  • Teaches the fundamentals & proper use of tools
  • Basic cuts - coves, beads & flats
  • Tool sharpening
  • Will leave with 2 completed projects

B. Intermediate Class - 1 day class

  • For someone who has completed the introduction class or has prior experience
  • Understanding and selecting wood
  • Techniques of bowl making
